Inheriting a house<\/strong> implies a series of obligations<\/strong> that sometimes you do not count on, and which unfortunately, can mean having one headache after another. The heir or heiress of the house finds himself or herself in a very complex situation as a result of the steps involved concerning all the paperwork as well as the agreement<\/strong> that may have to be reached with relatives, and above all, the taxes that must be paid<\/strong>. Over the last few years, we have noticed that in Spain there has been an increase in the renunciation<\/strong> of property received in an inheritance. This is due to the fact that the taxes that must be paid are so high that the heir or heiress does not consider the inheritance profitable, and thus the renunciation. The highest taxes are imposed in Andalusia and Asturias whereas, in the Community of Madrid they are extremely low<\/strong> because 99% of them are covered. On the other hand, in communities like Catalonia, Valencia, Castile and Le\u00f3n no property taxes are paid whatsoever. All this leads to the unquestionable reality that depending on the place of residence the taxes are very different<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

FAMILY CONFLICTS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sometimes it is difficult to reach a general agreement with relatives<\/strong> as well as having to deal with tax obligations and bureaucratic problems. If the inheritance of the property is co-parcenary<\/strong>, which means that it must be divided between several relatives, then problems can arise which can only be solved going to court. Hence, the problem becomes double because on the one hand we face a family conflict and on the other hand the legal ruling will surely leave some of the relatives unsatisfied<\/strong>.
