The heir or heiress of the house finds himself or herself in a very complex situation as a result of the steps involved concerning <strong>all the paperwork as well as the agreement<\/strong> that may have to be reached with relatives, and above all, <strong>the taxes that must be paid<\/strong>. Over the last few years, we have noticed that <strong>in Spain there has been an increase in the renunciation<\/strong> of property received in an inheritance. This is due to the fact that the taxes that must be paid are so high that the heir or heiress does not consider the inheritance profitable, and thus the renunciation. The highest taxes are imposed in Andalusia and Asturias whereas, <strong>in the Community of Madrid they are extremely low<\/strong> because 99% of them are covered. On the other hand, in communities like Catalonia, Valencia, Castile and Le\u00f3n no property taxes are paid whatsoever. Hence, the problem becomes double because on the one hand we face a family conflict and on the other hand <strong>the legal ruling will surely leave some of the relatives unsatisfied<\/strong>.
