Feng Shui<\/strong> is a thousand-year-old Chinese tecnique that tries to find a better use of space<\/strong> so that the occupants can live in comfort and harmony<\/strong>. According to this ancient Chinese usage, when we decorate a space, we must not only consider embellishing it<\/strong> but we must create a pleasant atmosphere<\/strong> so that the people who live there can take delight to the maximum. In order to carry out any activity of our choice in the most comfortable way, it is essential to organize the space<\/strong>. Thus, Feng Shui<\/strong> suggests that we sort out and arrange the space<\/strong> and at the same time put our life in order<\/strong>. All of this represents a significant change process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Contrary to the opinion of many, this tecnique is very often used in the Western world. For instance, Donald Trump himself has admitted that he has used, more than once, the Feng Shui tecnique<\/strong> in his real estate properties. He has stated that Feng Shui provided advantages over his rivals and that practising it generated more money. In Spain, this tecnique is used by important companies and even by some football teams<\/strong> as for instance, the Girona. This team has engaged the services of a company which applies Feng Shui<\/strong> in the properties of their players. In our last article about decoration, we wrote about the different kinds of flooring that we can instal in a house<\/strong><\/a>. Today, we are going to tell you about the Fen Shui tecnique. It will surprise you !<\/p>\n

SOME BASIC RULES<\/strong><\/p>\n

Feng Shui has some basic rules<\/strong> which are very representative of its philosophy. The first one is to avoid, above everything else, untidiness<\/strong>. For Feng Shui<\/strong>, a key element is to have a tidy and clean house<\/strong> because then it will have the maximum of vital energy<\/strong>. Regarding the bedroom<\/strong>, the headboard must lean on a wall without a window or a door<\/strong>. According to Feng Shui, the headboard is related to our security in life<\/strong> as well as to the support of our family<\/strong>. The bed<\/strong> must not be placed directly opposite the doorway nor opposite the bathroom door<\/strong>. In addition, it should never be placed underneath visible ceiling beams or underneath a fan<\/strong>. Both of these elements can disturb our rest.<\/p>\n

\"Feng<\/p>\n

Another interesting rule is that we should minimise the number of electronic devices near our bedroom<\/strong>, because they emit waves that can hinder our relaxation and rest. In the kitchen<\/strong>, we must try to place the heating elements on one side, and the cleaning supplies on another side<\/strong>. In this way we balance the space because water and fire elements are diametrically opposed and should not be mixed<\/strong>. As for the living room<\/strong>, we must pay special attention to to the lighting<\/strong> as this will also balance the space<\/strong>. The same as with the headboard, the sofa must be placed against a wall<\/strong>. Regarding the bathroom<\/strong>, the toilet seat must always have the lid down<\/strong>. It is important that we keep, in the bathroom, personal hygiene products<\/strong> and if we have medicines there, they must be concealed<\/strong>. We can decorate it with plants and scented candles<\/strong> which will also cleanse the atmosphere.<\/p>\n

EVER-CHANGING ENERGY, EVER-CHANGING DECORATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Feng Shui<\/strong> recommends us to, always, have our meals in the dining-room<\/strong> even if we have another space available, such as the kitchen. Communication during meals is important. Therefore, a round table<\/strong> can be very appropriate because then everybody is seated on an equal footing<\/strong>. This does not happen in rectangular shaped tables. As for the living-room, the furniture should not be placed facing each other<\/strong>. L-shaped sofas are perfect<\/strong> as they allow the energy to flow<\/strong>. It is also important for those who are seated to be able to see who comes in and who leaves the house. According to Feng Shui, we should avoid hanging mirrors opposite the front door<\/strong> because they can bounce back the energy that we bring in from the outside, and thus, prevent it from entering our home. The main entrance hall must not be overloaded with furniture<\/strong> and the decoration should be harmonious<\/strong>. We can decorate it with plants<\/strong> as they will make a good impression to those coming inside. Lastly, it must be said that energy is always ever-changing<\/strong>. Therefore, our home decoration should be refreshed and renewed from time to time<\/strong>. We must not forget that nature changes every year! Ah, and one more thing!
