This conclusion is drawn from the report that was recently published by the Ministry of Public Works and it was based on <strong>security deposits<\/strong> from only <strong>eight autonomous communities<\/strong>. This report shows facts and figures from Andalusia, Arag\u00f3n, the Balearics, Castilla y Le\u00f3n, Catalonia, the Community of Valencia, Galicia and Madrid. We pointed out that this moderation applied to buying and selling but not to renting. This does not surprise us once we have analysed <strong>the increase in the price of renting year after year<\/strong>. According to the last Ministry of Public Works report carried out in 2018, <strong>there has been an increase in renting prices in all these eight autonomous communities<\/strong>. Let us analyse this in more detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"650\" height=\"385\" src=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/01-alquiler-1.jpg\" alt=\"The price of rental housing keeps rising\" class=\"wp-image-31684\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/01-alquiler-1.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/01-alquiler-1-300x178.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2>THE COMMUNITY OF MADRID IS IN THE LEAD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>the Community of Madrid <\/strong>in 2018, <strong>the price of rental housing increased more than 15%<\/strong> with regard to 2017. This fact speaks for itself, and if we pay attention to the <strong>price per m2<\/strong>, then the increase is <strong>10,7\u20ac<\/strong>. These facts and figures give us an idea of how the price of rental housing has increased in Madrid in only one year. <strong>In Catalonia<\/strong>, the rise was much less striking, <strong>6,7%<\/strong> and around <strong>8,7\u20ac per m2<\/strong>. As for the rest of the communities which were analysed by the Ministry of Public Works, <strong>the Balearics <\/strong>come close to Madrid with <strong>an increase of 14,9%<\/strong> and <strong>7,9\u20ac per m2<\/strong>. Next come <strong>Arag\u00f3n <\/strong>with <strong>11,7%<\/strong> (<strong>5,8\u20ac per m2<\/strong>), and t<strong>he Community of Valencia<\/strong> with an increase of <strong>10,2%<\/strong> and <strong>5,4\u20ac per m2<\/strong>. After Catalonia come <strong>Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/strong> (<strong>4,5%<\/strong> rise, <strong>4,7\u20ac per m2<\/strong>), and lastly <strong>Galicia<\/strong> (<strong>4,2%<\/strong> rise and <strong>4,7\u20ac per m2<\/strong>). Regarding <strong>rental prices<\/strong>, the <strong>Community of Madrid <\/strong>is also at the head with <strong>an average rental price of more than 800\u20ac for property with less than 90 m2<\/strong>. The average is exactly <strong>819\u20ac for 86 m2<\/strong>. It is therefore not surprising that <strong>many families consider the option of buying<\/strong> because rental prices are very high. Madrid is followed by <strong>Catalonia<\/strong> (an average of <strong>693\u20ac for a 98 m2 property<\/strong>). After, <strong>the Balearics<\/strong> (<strong>687\u20ac for 100 m2 property<\/strong>), the <strong>Community of Valencia<\/strong>  (<strong>535\u20ac for 105 m2<\/strong>), <strong>Andalusia<\/strong> (<strong>503\u20ac for 97 m2<\/strong>), <strong>Arag\u00f3n<\/strong> (<strong>453\u20ac for 83 m2<\/strong>), <strong>Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/strong> (<strong>29\u20ac for 99 m2<\/strong>), and lastly <strong>Galicia <\/strong>(<strong>418\u20ac for 99 m2<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"650\" height=\"435\" src=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/02-alquiler-2.jpg\" alt=\"The price of rental housing keeps rising\" class=\"wp-image-31687\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/02-alquiler-2.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/02-alquiler-2-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2>SAN SEBASTIAN, THE MOST EXPENSIVE CITY<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Regarding rental prices, San Sebastian is the most expensive city in Spain<\/strong>. Here, the price increase is of <strong>14\u20ac per m2<\/strong>. After, comes <strong>Barcelona with 12,5\u20ac per m2<\/strong>. Then, <strong>Madrid<\/strong> (<strong>12\u20ac per m2<\/strong>), and <strong>Ibiza<\/strong> (<strong>11,8\u20ac per m2<\/strong>). If we consider which are <strong>the most expensive areas for rental housing in Spain<\/strong>, we must highlight <strong>Boadilla del Monte<\/strong> (<strong>1.200\u20ac per month<\/strong>), next, <strong>Pozuelo de Alarc\u00f3n<\/strong> (<strong>1.173\u20ac per month<\/strong>), and <strong>Sant Cugat del Vall\u00e9s<\/strong> (<strong>1.150\u20ac monthly<\/strong>). Has rental housing in Spain reached its peak or will it become even more expensive?
