We can say that the main aim of this multidisciplinary centre is <strong>the diffusion of culture <\/strong>in all its aspects, <strong>from music to literature as well as films, plastic arts, performing arts and even philosophy<\/strong>. It is located in <strong>Calle de Alcal\u00e1<\/strong> and it may be overshadowed by the large numbers of historic buildings that surround it, as it stands in one of the areas where the most beautiful buildings in all Madrid are located. Nonetheless, this is <strong>an irreplaceable space in the capital<\/strong> <strong>not only because of its history, but also because it carries out an important effort as a propagator of culture<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"650\" height=\"495\" src=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/01-circulo-1.jpg\" alt=\"C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes\" class=\"wp-image-32703\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/01-circulo-1.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/01-circulo-1-300x228.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If take a walk <strong>from Sol to Cibeles<\/strong> or <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"if we just stroll along Calle Alcal\u00e1 (abre en una nueva pesta\u00f1a)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/calle-alcala-part-history-madrid\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">if we just stroll along Calle Alcal\u00e1<\/a><\/strong> we will come across it. Today, we are going to learn more about <strong>the C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"650\" height=\"517\" src=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/02-circulo-1.jpg\" alt=\"C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes\" class=\"wp-image-32704\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/02-circulo-1.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/02-circulo-1-300x239.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2>A REFERENTIAL CENTRE OF CULTURE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes<\/strong> is a <strong>non-profit private entity<\/strong> that was <strong>founded by a group of artists in 1880<\/strong>. In December 1879, its regulations were approved and the first central office was housed in 5, Calle Barquillo. Later, this entity changed its location several times <strong>until 1926 when the central office was moved to Calle Alcal\u00e1<\/strong> (the <strong>sculptor Antonio Palacios<\/strong> helped to draw up the plans). In 1921, before becoming the <strong>C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes<\/strong>, this edifice was declared <strong>Centre for the Protection of the Fine Arts and of Public Benefit<\/strong>. We can say that the best of the best of the Spanish world of culture joined and connected at some time and in one way or another in the <strong>C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes<\/strong>. Illustrious and distinguished people like <strong>Jacinto Benavente or Carlos Arniches<\/strong> <strong>formed part of the executive board <\/strong>and prominent personalities like <strong>Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda del Valle-Incl\u00e1n <\/strong>or a very young <strong>Pablo Picasso <\/strong>frequented the salons so as to be in contact with the cultural atmosphere that was present in Madrid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"650\" height=\"867\" src=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/03-circulo-3.jpg\" alt=\"C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes\" class=\"wp-image-32705\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/03-circulo-3.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/03-circulo-3-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes has, in all, seven floors<\/strong> all which are <strong>full of grandeur and reflect a stately atmosphere<\/strong> as does the whole edifice. This entity hosts <strong>exhibitions of painting and photography, lectures and colloquiums, the showing of literary elements as well as philosophical debate<\/strong>s. All these activities have been taking place for over a hundred years and this entity <strong>continues to be a reference in terms of culture<\/strong>. To sum up, we can say that on the ground floor we find <strong>the cafeteria and the restaurant<\/strong>; on the first floor, <strong>a cinema that can accommodate more than 200 people<\/strong>; on the second floor, there is<strong> a theatre with 500 seats<\/strong> and <strong>an impressive ballroom<\/strong>; on the third floor, there is the boardroom; on the fourth floor we find <strong>the vestibule De la Fuentecilla<\/strong>; on the fifth floor there are <strong>four halls for exhibitions and lectures <\/strong>and on the seventh floor we can admire <strong>the beautiful terrace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"650\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/04-circulo-1.jpg\" alt=\"C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes\" class=\"wp-image-32706\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/04-circulo-1.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/04-circulo-1-300x215.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2>A TERRACE THAT RENDERS YOU SPEECHLESS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We want to talk about <strong>this terrace<\/strong> because it is <strong>a place that you really must visit <\/strong>as it will take your breath away. It is <strong>more than 50 metres high <\/strong>and <strong>its view of all Madrid will leave you speechless<\/strong>. On a clear day, you can see as far as Sierra de Guadarrama. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"650\" height=\"466\" src=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/05-circulo-1.jpg\" alt=\"C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes\" class=\"wp-image-32707\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/05-circulo-1.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.estateone.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/05-circulo-1-300x215.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the terrace, there is a cafeteria and a restaurant\u00a0 and we can also admire <strong>the statue of Minerva<\/strong> the important icon of the C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes. <strong>This statue is nearly 8 metres high and weighs more than 3 tons<\/strong>. It was built in 1966 being a point of reference in the skyline of Madrid.
