A fireplace, a jewel

A fireplace, a jewel

A fireplace changes the face of a house and provides home warmth which is very much appreciated and valued by everyone. We must bear in mind that a fireplace contributes to giving the house an added value: on the one hand, it makes the room warmer and on the other hand, it is a decorative element that can add a personal and different touch in decoration. Why are fireplaces so popular? In Estate One we believe that a burning fireplace changes the aspect of the house: the warmth, the lighting, the sound of burning firewood all produce a feeling of comfort and well-being that other elements do not easily achieve. Some might think that fireplaces are associated with rural properties or old houses from another time. However, this is by no means the case. Fireplaces have succeeded in imposing themselves over these stereotypes and, to a certain extent, have transcended every fashion and have become an atemporal reality. This is why we can say that a fireplace fits in every type of house, even in the most modern one. The reason is that home warmth has always been and will always be very much valued in any kind of property

A FIREPLACE AND LUXURY, A GOOD PAIR

Luxury housing is more and more in demand in our country and fireplaces fit very well in this kind of property. Large detached houses or chalets located in the sierra, or even in the urban surroundings, usually have a fireplace. Thus, it is normal that buyers want them as they are very much in demand in exclusive atmospheres. So much so, that when a high standing property does not have a fireplace, nor is its installation possible, then very often a false fireplace is set up as a decorative element. Generally speaking, we can say that fireplaces increase the value of property, especially in upper level housing, as they are very much appreciated, as we have just said, by the buyers. To a certain extent, we can state that fireplaces contribute to giving the house an air of distinction that the buyer of exclusive property appreciates very much. We can say that, sometimes, a fireplace can tip the balance in favour of the property. Another advantage is the peace and relaxation that sitting next to the fire, at home, conveys. Hence, we could almost say that fireplaces have a therapeutic value for the inhabitants of the house as they can spend hours gazing at the fire whilst enjoying the calmness that just looking at it produces.

LOOKING FOR AN ALTERNATIVE

As regards a property without a fireplace, there is an alternative that can recreate the feeling that having one gives. We refer to electrical appliances which imitate the aspect and functions of a fireplace, using a remote control whilst sitting comfortably on a sofa. Most of these appliances emulate, on a screen, the texture of the fire and the burning firewood and so achieve greater realism. We must take into account that to instal this electrical appliance an outside outlet for smoke is necessary because we must instal a gas device. Logically, it is considerably more expensive than a traditional fireplace.
