The real estate sector values sustainable housing more and more because it respects the environment. Society in general, is fully aware of the fact that we only have one planet and that we must commit ourselves to preserving it. It is indispensable that we know how to live in harmony with our environment: Spanish real estate has taken good note of this reality, and a good proof of this is that most property which is currently built is sustainable. In this blog, we recently wrote an article about producing energy at home. This option is being increasingly carried out in Europe and is a great relief for our planet. As from the year 2021, all property built in Europe must have nearly zero energy consumption. Therefore, homebuyers are already looking for sustainable housing so as to be ahead of this measure. We can state that most clients are committed to energy efficiency and so is the real estate sector.

COMFORT AND ADVANTAGES
Homebuyers are very much aware of the fact that if they purchase sustainable housing they are not only helping the health of our planet but they are also saving a considerable amount of money in household bills (it is estimated that the average savings equal around 4.000€ per year in energy efficient housing). It seems clear that housing must be sustainable in the future. Homebuyers know this, and in consequence, they currently demand this kind of real estate product. Sustainable housing does not only entail savings, but also great comfort for the owner. Nowadays, these properties are very much linked with home automation and domotic intelligent systems and they are also very easy and comfortable to operate by means of technology. The plans of these properties are usually simple and compact as they must make the most of the energy which is available. They are comfortable properties and they favour well-being and livability. We could say, without fear of being wrong, that conventional housing can, hardly in any aspect, compete against sustainable properties.

A KEY AGENT
We must build in a sustainable way and we must also respect the environment. This message, which may well be the conclusion of everything we have said, has already sunk in the homebuyer, as the increasing commitment to energy efficiency shows. This commitment is encouraged by some measures that stimulate the use of sustainable housing. As for instance, green mortgages, a financial product that favours the purchase of energy efficient housing and about which we will soon write in this blog. It is obvious that the real estate system is a key agent to reducing impact on the environment and as such it should behave always, now and in the future.
