Future cities must offer low energy consumption as well as a sustainable real estate system. The resources of our planet are not endless and some circumstances such as climate change has caused that the real estate system reconsiders its policies. Gone are the days when the only thing that mattered was to build without taking into account what type of buildings they were. Nowadays, we consider and bear in mind the impact a building will cause to the environment. At present, it is taken into account more and more, that cities must be sustainable places. Regarding this fact, real estate agents play a leading role as housing on sale will strongly depend on the habitability of the city. Some time ago, we wrote an article in this blog about housing with Leed Certification which increases its value because it respects the environment and is thus more advisable in all aspects. Although in Spain it has taken longer than in other countries, little by little we have become aware that sustainable housing has a large number of benefits and this fact has led to a turn in this direction regarding real estate.
SUSTAINABILITY AND THE FUTURE GO HAND IN HAND
Some time ago, we wrote in this blog that buildings which are capable of decontaminating are being built. We pointed out that thanks to this depolluting system, these buildings reduced traffic pollution up to 60%. When we take these steps, we know what the future of real estate will be like. Similarly, the construction sector must reinvent itself day in day out in order to adapt to the market demand. Furthermore, the future of the real estate market has become inconceivable without bearing in mind sustainability. The world of architecture has also reached a unanimous consensus: prestigious architects and master builders believe that the future of their profession lies in building with very low or even null environmental impact. It is not possible to think about the future without considering energy efficiency: sustainability and the future go hand in hand, according to the main characters of this situation. Most European governments agree with this and we can see it in their urban policies which are aimed at encouraging energy efficiency buildings. In Spain, these measures are starting to be taken and we wrote about them in this blog mentioning the advantages that housing with Eco-Certification has.
A CONSTANT CHALLENGE
Innovation plays a fundamental role in the development of human beings and it is also a fundamental issue regarding the real estate sector. In the XXI century, technology has already reached this sector and it has been able to accept and adapt itself to the development of new times. We believe that a basic principle of real estate agents is to respond worthily to new technologies as well as learning to coexist with them. Maybe the great challenge of the real estate sector is to know how to find the balance between a continuously developing technological world and a sustainable one with ecological awareness.
